ID 250: IATF 16949 – Examination for 1st/2nd-Party Auditor

The certificate awarded to you upon passing the examination for certified 1st/2nd-party Auditor IATF 16949 is issued exclusively by the IATF member VDA QMC or by one of VDA QMC approved licensed partners.

The exam includes:

• written exam with 40 questions (60 minutes)
• oral exam consisting of preparation phase (30 minutes) and interview (20 minutes)

For preparation, the training material handed out during VDA trainings (incl. standards) are admitted and must be brought along on the examination day

Prerequisites for participation

Admission to the examination will only be granted after a successful review of your application. Prerequisites are an auditor qualification for Internal Auditor ISO 9001:2015, at least three complete internal ISO 9001 system audits within the past three years and at least two years‘ appropriate full-time practical automotive experience.

Evidence of knowledge of the Automotive Core Tools must be provided. The training ”Automotive Core Tools for System and Process Auditors” (ID 417) and the VDA qualification ”Automotive Core Tools Professional” (ID 415, 416 and possibly 450) are recognised. Alternatively, evidence of a minimum two-day training about Automotive Core Tools by another training provider as well as the passing of an Automotive Core Tools online quiz is required. If the quiz is not passed, the
”Automotive Core Tools for System and Process Auditors” course (ID 417) must be completed.

Qualification Certificate

After passing the examination, the participant will receive a certificate with a registered number in connection with an auditor card and the attendant entry into the VDA QMC database
