GR 801 - Automotive SPICE Assessment

Descripción

Processes make the difference! This also applies to the creation of software. Especially for software - because in contrast to "tangible" products, the quality of software cannot be assessed retrospectively. Mobility in the near future is inconceivable without software. Software provides more comfort, more safety and for controlling the drive in the vehicle.

Increasing networking and the increasing degree of automation increase the complexity of the implemented software functions. In order to master this complexity in development, stable processes are essential.

Processes create the conditions for collaboration across company boundaries, in international teams and in remote teams (developing from the home office). A-SPICE provides a framework for defining one's own processes and evaluating their implementation in projects.

Reasons for the assessment

The awarding of project contracts is increasingly and consistently linked to the company's ability to learn systematically and systemically from mistakes. An ASPICE® CL3 assessment, i.e. an assessment report from a well-known assessment leader with an achieved ASPICE® capacity level 3 ("Capability Level 3"), is considered as proof. The customer wants to reduce the risk and the associated difficult-to-calculate danger of additional costs already at the time of project award. CL3 is rated as the first stable competence level, as established processes are certified here.
Process improvement
Assessments are often carried out as GAP analyses for internal use. With the neutral assessment of the processes, the gaps of the project are identified. This shows the way for targeted process improvement.

Content

Final presentation
In the KM assessment process described below, a presentation of the assessment results takes place in front of all stakeholders at the end of the on-site phase. Here, the strengths and potentials of the processes are highlighted.
It becomes clear how well newly introduced or long-established processes are effective and where improvements still need to or can be made.

Assessment report
The assessment report, together with the presentation, serves as the basis for process improvement.
Thus, the management has a strengths and weaknesses profile at hand to derive suitable concepts and measures in workshops to make the processes more effective and, if necessary, also more efficient.
Depending on the intention of the assessment client, the report is also presented to the customer. It provides information about the individual process attributes that describe the performance of the development processes.
